Short Course on Principles of Ethics in the United Nations’ and in the European Community’s Systems
The first UNICRI short-course on Principles of Ethics in the United Nations’ and in the European Community’s Systems will take place at the Sapienza’s Campus in Pomezia (University of Rome) from November 16th to November 20th, 2009.
The synergy between a UN agency, such as UNICRI, and the University of Rome – Sapienza, offers a unique perspective on the principles of ethics. The Course is moreover organized in cooperation with Ce.A.S. (Centre for Advanced Studies on Terrorism and Political Violence) and the Consorzio for the University of Pomezia.

A tre anni dalla nomina da presidente del Consorzio perl'università di Pomezia, Piergiorgio Crosti, brillante manager comunale fa un bilancio mettendo in risalto le cose fatte, e quelle ancora da fare e sottolinea come tutto ciò sia stato possibile grazie allo splendido supporto del Sindaco ,Enrico De Fusco, e di tutta l'amministrazione comunale. Ma andiamo con ordine: lo abbiamo intervistato e subito ci è apparso emozionato per lo splendido e recente successo di essere riuscito a portare l'Unicri, una agenzia dell'O.N.U. atta ad assistere organizzazioni intergovernative, governative e non governative nella formulazione e nell'attuazione delle politiche di miglioramento nel campo della prevenzione della criminalità e della giustizia penale, presso il Campus Selva dei Pini di Pomezia.Profiling psicologico
Decostruzione dei pattern comportamentali:
una metodologia di psicologia criminale.
Neuropsicolinguistica
Morfologia anatomofisiologica delle aree cerebrali deputate alla rilevazione, elaborazione e classificazione degli stimoli linguistici.
Il Ce.A.S. inaugura un nuovo settore di ricerca scientifica, nell’ambito della Neuropsicolinguistica.Lo studio dei principali modelli teorici e delle modificazioni anatomofisiologiche cerebrali in seguito ad input linguistici affiancherà l'applicazione del modello COMP[1], tramite piattaforma tecnologica basata su modelli matematici.
Conoscere le modificazioni anatomiche e funzionali delle aree cerebrali in base a determinati stimoli linguistici consente di elaborare una mappatura del cervello di un determinato campione, potendone in tal modo fornire un profilo distintivo.
Parallelamente gli esperti intendono rilevare gli effetti cerebrali, che conducono ad esiti comportamentali, di ogni singola parola, nonché classificare gli input verbali in base a categorie linguistiche, al fine di congiungere i tradizionali approcci psicologici con la logica del linguaggio.
Il Ce.A.S. ha sviluppato, pertanto, all’interno del COMP, una specifica metodologia dei modelli psico-logici di decodificazione linguistica.Questa attività, oltre ad avere una sua dimensione generale come settore di ricerca, verrà applicata trasversalmente a tutti i fenomeni e le tematiche di interesse (pedofilia, bullismo, criminalità organizzata ecc. ).

Martedì 27 gennaio 2009, presso il Campus Universitario di Pomezia è stato sottoscritto il protocollo di intesa tra l'UNICRI (Istituto delle Nazioni Unite per la Ricerca sul Crimine e la Giustizia), il Polo Universitario di Pomezia e il CeAS (Centro Alti studi per la lotta alla violenza politica e al terrorismo) per la realizzazione a Pomezia del Master Internazionale di Criminologia dell'ONU.
Le lezioni partiranno in corrispondenza con l'anno accademico 2009/10 e si svolgeranno dal lunedì al venerdì, esclusivamente in lingua inglese, con la partecipazione di docenti provenienti da tutto il mondo. Il Master, inoltre permetterà a tutti gli studenti di acquisire crediti formativi rilasciati dalle Nazioni Unite. Il Protocollo rimarrà in vigore per altri quattro anni accademici successivi. "Questo master, già noto per la sua qualità nella Comunità Scientifica Internazionale, – spiega il professor Alessandro Ceci, direttore scientifico del CeAS - è il V nel ranking mondiale dei master in criminologia.

The protection of Fundamental Rights in European Law. The case law of European Court of Justice and European Court of Human Rights.

The first UNICRI Summer School on Fundamental Rights will take place in the University of Rome, Sapienza’s campus in Pomezia, from July 1st to July 7th, 2009. The course will be organized in cooperation with Ce.A.S. (Centre for Advanced Studies on Terrorism and Political Violence) and the Consorzio for the University of Pomezia. The first International Summer School on Fundamental Rights aims to provide students and young professionals with a comprehensive understanding and a detailed perspective on economic, legal and social aspects related to fundamental rights in the European Law. Understanding the history and context of human rights protection in European Law is crucial when examining the effects of the Charter of Fundamental Right. Moreover, fundamental rights, which are considered an integral part of EU laws, can be used to debate the validity of EU legislation or the decision-making process of EU institutions. The Summer School aspires to enhance professional skills and knowledge related to these topics and to introduce best practices in this field. The synergy between a UN agency, such as UNICRI, and the University of Rome - Sapienza offers a unique perspective on the essential topic of fundamental rights. The Summer School will take place in the stimulating international environment of Pomezia, where UNICRI has its Office dedicated to advanced training, applied research as well as technical assistance and where the University of Rome – Sapienza has established its innovative University Campus, supplied with equipped classrooms, laboratories and sports facilities (e.g. swimming pool, football fields and tennis courts) which guarantee the opportunity of experiencing a highly innovative and integrative form of education. The International Summer School adopts a multidisciplinary approach and the programme will comprehend daily workshops, which will offer the possibility to interact with highly recognised international experts on the most up-to-date topics regarding the protection of fundamental rights in European Law. The scheduled lecturers will include magistrates, judges, international experts, university professors and officials from major European institutions such as the European Commission. The programme will cover topics such as the European Treaties and EC regulations; the European Court of Justice and the EU Normative System of Fundamental Rights Protection; the European Convention on Human Rights; the European Court of Human Rights and the National Courts; the introduction of Minimum Standards on Fundamental Rights Protection in Criminal Trial; Social; Security Rights and Basic Income. The workshop will be held at the University of Rome – Sapienza, at the “Campus Selva dei Pini” in Pomezia (close to Rome).
