“Le scienze forensi ed il diritto penale alle soglie del III millennio”

 

Il giorno 25.01.07, alle ore 14.00. presso l’Auditorium della Cassa Forense in Roma, via Ennio Quirino Visconti no 6/8, si è svolto un seminario scientifico dedicato a Cesare Lombroso, dal titolo Seminario di studi  Cesare Lombroso. . . Oggi...  Le scienze forensi ed il diritto penale alle soglie del III millennio
 Il seminario è stato organizzato e patrocinato da  “Master in Scienze Forensi dell’Università di Roma La Sapienza”, diretto dal Prof. Francesco Bruno, Commissione Diritti Umani e della Persona, Libertà civili ed immigrazione del Consiglio dell’Ordine degli Avvocati di Roma.

Il seminario verte sulla figura e sul ruolo scientifico di Cesare Lombroso (1835-1909), il notissimo padre della criminologia che ebbe i suoi natali in Italia e che, pur avendo raggiunto una grandissima popolarità ed autorevolezza scientifica da vivo, dopo la sua morte e soprattutto negli ultimi anni, è stato quasi dimenticato ed il contenuto ed il significato delle sue opere e delle sue teorie sono stati sottoposti a critiche severe e a sistematiche distorsioni.

A quasi cento anni dalla morte il seminario si propone di richiamare alla memoria il nome e l’eredità di questo grande scienziato italiano in modo da favorire un nuovo dibattito fra gli studiosi del settore per valutare che cosa, di lui e delle sue teorie, sopravviva oggi, nel momento in cui la criminologia da lui fondata sembra collocarsi in una posizione insostituibile per fornire adeguate chiavi di lettura alla realtà moderna ed ai numerosi e diversissimi fenomeni criminali che vi si manifestano.

Cesare Lombroso, partendo dalla teoria dell’evoluzione e dalle influenze del positivismo, definì la criminalità come frutto di degenerazione e atavismo, dando in tal modo dignità scientifica all’antropologia criminale.
